Yes, and they took a while to arrive. The transit police took a report of the incident.

Good (I always ask this of people, there have been several incidents where crimes have been reported HERE but not with the authorities!) You should also let the Somerville police know if you haven't already; don't assume the T-cops and the locals talk to each other. Just be sure to let them know you've informed the transit police as well.
