Looking for picture framing place

Can anyone recommend a place they particularly like, preferably in Porter/Davis, to have prints framed? I used to go to M.S. Murphy in Davis -- they were great. They had a good selection of frames, were good at helping you pick frames and matting, took time with customers, etc. I'm looking for someplace that's like that, but not ultra-expensive. I remember going to Frameworks (now Corners) and you had to take a number, wait around, and then they kind of rushed you through.

Frameworks merged with Corners? I didn't know that.

Frame King merged with Corners. Corners recently went out of business, as discussed below.

Frameworks moved to Burlington, I think.

The store on Mass Ave near Verna's that was Frameworks is now "Boston Frame Works." I don't know how they are connected to the old Frameworks. I can't recommend them, though, because the last time I took something there, nothing special, it came out ultra-expensive.

I don't think it's the same people. I think the former Cambridge Frameworks people moved to Burlington (http://www.frameworksburl.com/). The Boston Frame Works people aren't the same people, I don't think; it seems to me that the Cambridge Frameworks was owned by a woman, while the Boston Frame Works is owned by a man.

I added the "business services" tag. If you click on it (and keep paging back to earlier pages), you'll find a scattering of old posts about framing.

Corners went out of business a few weeks ago.

Big Picture Framing (http://www.bigpictureframing.com/cambridge/) outside of Porter Square might be your best bet.

Or the Cambridge Framery (http://www.cambridgeframery.com/about.html).

A Street Frames and Stanhope Framers and Boston Frame Works all do a great job, but they are very pricey.

I second Big Picture Framing. They are super nice and do quality work.

Yep, I've been to Big Picture a few times and they've always done good work.

I'll third the recommendation for Big Picture. I've had 8 pieces framed by them now and I'm always happy with their work.

i know camera's inc, in davis, has a little framing section in the front. I know nothing about their quality or cost. I do know that i prefer to buy camera stuff from them (as opposed to online, which is sometimes cheaper) as they have such great customer service.

i've had a very good framing experience with cameras inc. they're not as wide-selection or artsy as the lost and lamented murphy, but they're nice, will spend time with you, and also offer cheap but nice-looking pre-made frames in standard sizes.
