1) What is the best phad thai in the area? Is it the new place called "taipei tokyo" or would you recommend someplace further out?
2) In case you don't know (and how could you not) the next DS meet-up is on the 11th at Joe Sent Me at 7pm.
3) One of your lovely moderators has a fundraising page here. She is raising money for the Somerville Homeless Coalition. She does a lot of work here in the DS community and this is a very good local cause, so please consider donating. She would never think of pimping her page here, but of course I would. She is very cool and does a lot of work for this community, so please help out this worthy cause.
EDIT: In regards to #3, I'll match any donation given from the DS community up till the end of this week (the 14th) for a total of $200. When you donate to the the page, specify that you are part of the DS community. On the 14th, I'll donate up to an additional $200 for the donations given. Its an excellent chance to help out the SHC and a very cool moderator here.

I also like the places near me - Spice and Rice, and Montien in Inman Square.

Towards the city hall yum yum hut does decent pad thai. Also the thai place in north cambridge in the little strip by pemberton farms - its still not in the same league as sweet chili but its decent.
If Taipei Tokyo is the one in Arlington I was highly unimpressed with there stuff - it was better than some but...

Plus, they give you enough food to last several days.

Always good to my way of thinking. I love leftovers...

decent is a great word - a little more greasy than I like but solid.
Funny enough Green Papaya (out in waltham) has some of my fav Thai dishes (great duck and crazy noodle) but *horrid* pad thai

Some casual google searching indicates that there may be a third in New Hampshire.
There is also a restaurant called the Taipei-Tokyo Cafe in Rockville, MD, but I believe it to be unrelated to the Massachusetts ones.

I like Tip Top Thai and Pepper Sky for pad thai. I haven't had it in awhile, but I remember East Asia in Powderhouse having very tasty pad thai and their tofu is pretty darn good to boot... I think it's homemade! Yum. East Asia is better for take-out though!

If you're willing to go a little further out, my favorite thai food is at The Similans, at Lechmere. Amazing food, but definitely not fast food prices.
