Outdoors in Somerville, this weekend and beyond

Friday, September 19: East Somerville International Movie Night, 165 Broadway, behind the old fire station. Italian music and food at 7 pm, followed by Il Postino at 8 pm.

Saturday, September 20: Somerville Garden Club Plant Sale, 9am-1pm, Davis Square plaza across from the Somerville Theatre.

Saturday, September 20: The Urban Country Fair, 3-7 pm in Union Square plaza. Crafts, vendors, workshops, country dancing, and live music.

Saturday, September 20: Fairy Night at the Community Growing Center, 22 Vinal Avenue, 4-6 pm. The Growing Center's calendar says: "play, sing and dance in the garden fairy land, build a fairy house, and be sure to bring a teacup to partake of fairy tea & wear your loveliest fairy wings." (I know nothing more about this event.)

Saturday and Sunday, September 20 and 21: Serbian Festival at St. Sava's Serbian Orthodox Church, on Route 16 at the Cambridge-Somerville line. Satruday noon to 10 pm, Sunday noon to 6 pm.

I did it years ago back when I was just starting to bike (I mean, literally, just learning; I never rode as a kid). It was fine.

Good to know, thanks.

I did ride as a kid but then didn't for a long time, and my current bike is a real PoS that has me going even slower than I would on a decent one, though would no doubt still be pretty slow.

Despite it being objectively easier, in some ways I find cycling for 30 minutes harder than running for the same time. I'm just not a fan, but I'm trying.

This may say more about your bike than you -- it's amazing how much of a difference the bike, and even a tuneup, can make to how easy the ride is.

No. Glad it was a good group, though!
