West Somerville Illuminations Walking & Caroling Tour - this Saturday!

Since the Illuminations Trolley Tour never visits our part of town, the Somerville Arts Council this year has added a West Somerville Illuminations Walking & Caroling Tour.

Tour-goers will walk past some of the snazziest West Somerville holiday light displays, including the showstopper created by Al Pellechia on Wallace St. Singing will be lead by Alex the Jester and the Somerville Community Chorus.

Meet at 6 pm in front of JP Licks. The tour will take about an hour and will end at the Nave Gallery, where we will feast on art and holiday refreshments.

It's usually quite impressive, but he doesn't have much up yet and I don't think today's weather is going to help any.

singing mob?

The message is ambiguous - with singing "led by" the somerville community chorus, does this mean that the general public is invited to sing too? I usually join the Caroling Mob (http://www.carolingmob.org/) in JP but can't make it this year. This looks like a good alternative.

I doubt there will be Caroling Enforcers who make you stop singing if you choose to sing along. :-)

I'm in the chorus and though I've never done this event before, I can tell you that it just means we have a conductor and little carol books so we can sing harmony and anyone and everyone can sing along! Tis the season!

thanks for clearing that up! Is the carol book perchance available online as a PDF? I have the bass parts to most christmas carols memorized, but arrangements sometimes differ.
