What to do during a snow emergency?

My plans for tonight got canceled due to the snow emergency and I was wondering what (if anything) is open in the Davis Square (or within walking distance) such as bars and restaurants etc.  Do the bars typically stay open?

Actually, live music is one of the most-cancelled sort of things in a snowstorm. It depends a lot on where the band is supposed to be traveling from to the gig. Johnny D's tends to have bands from away, which makes their shows susceptible to snow cancellation. Toad more often has local musicians so is less likely to have to cancel shows for snow.

I am still bitter, 14 years later, that a snowstorm caused the cancellation of a Morphine show I was going to see. This was before I lived in the Boston area, so such things were not happening every day. And then Mark Sandman died.

Despite being a local band, Pressure Cooker is canceled for tonight at Johnny D's. But, that means the bar won't have a cover charge!

I should have listened to you. I ventured out to the Lily Pad to hear 'Alash: Masters of Tuvan Throat Singers', but the band was not able to reach the venue from wherever they were (I heard Connecticut). The show is rescheduled for tomorrow at 2 pm.
