Mailboxes or post offices with late Saturday pickup times

Hi!

I need to mail something postmarked by today. The Winter Hill P.O. and their mailbox outside had their last pickup at 1 and my own mailman came early this morning.

I know there's the all-night post office in Boston, but are there any closer mailboxes or post offices where I can still get something postmarked today?

Would a UPS store or a Fed Ex work for you? They are more likely to have later hours.

Would not work if it needs a postmark (see the OP) - only the post office can (legally) postmark something.

Does the date on metered postage count as a postmark? I never see a post office cancellation on metered mail I get. And anyone can buy a postage meter.

Just FYI, the post-office downtown is super close to the T and fairly painless, if you wind up having to go that route.

Medford and Harvard Square were open until 3pm, but nothing is open until 5pm.

The Fort Point Post Office, behind South Station at Summer & Dorchester Streets, is open from 6am to midnight 7 days a week. I've had a PO Box there since 2001, mainly because Somerville mail delivery is so abysmal (sorry, I need a little more than just getting the mail on the porch). They have been 24/7 a couple of times; it seems to vary with the economy.

That's pretty much the only Post Office in the area if you need to go on a weekend.
