Fresh Pond Newbury Comics Reopening

Just got an email from them about this:



It's 3/27 - 3/29. They're giving 20% off used CDs and DVDs, and 20% off of all vinyl. Most of the events seem to be Saturday from 1 - 4 and are face-painting, Wally the Green Monster, and a DJ, White Lies.

They also say "Plus, get tons of free stuff just for dropping by! (while supplies last)".

Apparently employees at other Trader Joes are claiming that the Fresh Pond TJ's is still on schedule to open in September.

Yes, it still is AFAIK.

The Newbury Comics space was never the space that was going to be Trader Joe's, though. That was always going to be the CVS, according to the management of that strip mall.

I went today and was VERY let down. It's a 1/3 of the size of the old store and the selection of music available seemed MUCH more limited. The vinyl section sucked and the cd's were not any better. It doesn't hold a candle to what I used to find at the old Fresh Pond store and is light years away from the Hardvard store. Waste of a trip.

I'm not surprised. Newbury is, last I heard, actually phasing out CDs and probably music altogether. I'm surprised they didn't just dump everything except the vinyl a long time ago.
