Brunching in the sunshine

Now that it's beginning to warm up, I'm wondering where I can go in the Davis Square area to sit outdoors, enjoy the weather, and have some brunch. I'd appreciate suggestions for right now, as well as the future (when it's consistently warmer). Apologies in advance if announcing warm weather in a public forum causes a snowstorm to occur.

The Neighborhood Restaurant in Union Square has outside seating and an excellent brunch!

just be ready for a wait, especially if you are going on a weekend.

I'm preparing to be pounced on here for disagreeing with CW, but I think The Neighborhood's brunches are way overrated. The place has good atmosphere and lots of carbs but I personally don't think the quality of the food is all that great. Kind of like the S&S.

For a good outdoor brunch (other than perhaps Orleans) methinks you need to look outside our fair city.

Its okay to disagree :).

I agree with this assessment of Neighborhood Restaurant. The atmosphere is nice, though.

Orleans has outdoor seating and serves brunch (maybe only on Sundays?)

If something more casual suits you, I really like grabbing food at The Broken Yolk and then walking over to Powderhouse to eat outside. :)

Cafe Luna in Central had just started doing an outside brunch last fall. It was on those public park tables, though, so I don't know if it's still going on.

Get take-out brunch somewhere else, buy coffee from Starbucks, and sit at their outdoor tables?

rao's roast @ crepe's > sbux

Yeah, but I wouldn't sit at Starbucks tables without buying something from Starbucks.

oh! i thought you meant the tables in front of jp licks.

Alfresco had outdoor seating last summer, maybe they'll do it again. Probably not yet, it's still a bit chilly. Ditto for the Burren.

I enjoy Cambridge Common...not too far from Davis.

Isn't the Independent getting outdoor seating?

Also, the Burren has a great brunch AND outdoor seating (great people watching).

Sabur in Teele Square serves Saturday brunch and has a deck with plenty of outdoor seating. Also their brunch food is tasty and middle eastern. :-)

I 2nd this recommendation. Try the Macedonian Eggs and Lutenica.

Sabur is wonderful, and generally uncrowded.

A few more options...

Tavern in Porter and Central both have outdoor seating in the warmer months. They have a brunch menu on Saturdays and a brunch buffet on Sundays. It's pretty good!

The S and S and Johnny D's are my favorite brunch places, but neither currently have outdoor seating as far as I know.

Casual brunches in the park sound like fun too, I like that idea!

Not in Davis, but pop down to Harvard Square and try Algiers. They have a lovely back deck on the second floor. Not sure if it's open yet. They serve breakfast all day every day.

Agree with that!

Still too cold, though.

True Grounds in Ball Square has some outdoor seating.

Uno's has outdoor seating, but I don't know if they have brunch.

Bolocco (now Green Tomato 2) used to have a fair amount of outdoor seating. I think the outdoor seating is still there.

Danish Pastry House has a couple of outdoor tables.

Also Dave's Fresh pasta has some outdoor tables in warmer weather.
