Safety Alert: armed robbery in west Medford

This was just sent out to Tufts folks -- thought it was close enough for Davis Square folks to be concerned:

At approximately 4:17 PM today an armed robbery occurred off-campus in the west Medford area near High Street. There were three suspects and a firearm was shown. Medford Police has apprehended two of the three suspects, and has not recovered the firearm reportedly shown in the robbery. The third suspect was last seen in the area around College Avenue and Frederick Avenue, near the Tufts University athletic fields and Cousens Gym complex.

The description of the suspect is a light-skinned black male, teen-aged, last seen wearing jeans, a white tee-shirt and a black backpack. He was on a BMX-style bicycle.

Oh, OK, I would not know, since I rarely walk there.

I wasn't walking anywhere near there when this happened, but I think I paid closer attention to the news reports than you did. (None of the ones I read mentioned Harvard Yard.)

As far as I know, the guy walked around for a while after being wounded, outside the dorm (and was helped by a student outside the dorm). But yes, I agree, the precise location where he was shot makes all the difference. Thanks for your attention to relevant details.

The initial reports said Harvard Yard, they were changed later when more details were given to mention the card accessible dorm and the stairwell. So both of you are actually right :)One just read the news at a different time than the other.
