Bus outside CVS?

Anyone see what was going on outside CVS last night? There was an MBTA bus pulled over and two cop cars and maybe a truck? Didn't seem like anyone was hurt, because there was no ambulance, but it seemed to go on for a while. Couldn't tell, but it seemed like some people might have been having an argument of some sort.

Anyone know what was going on?

I saw this too, and asked some of the spectators what was going on. They told me that the truck had rear-ended the bus. The bus did not look damaged at all, so I'm not sure why it didn't just complete its scheduled route instead of hanging around.

even without damage, passengers - who would not have been wearing safety belts - may have been injured. Police report definitely in order.

I'm sure, too, that the MBTA has certain procedures in place that must be followed in the event of an accident, even one in which no damage was done to property and no one was injured.

Yes yes. Driving government vehicles, we were required to follow a procedure where photos were taken, reports filed, etc.. even when no damage was visible. I don't doubt MBTA would have similar policy.

I was on a bus that was hit by a car near 28 a couple years ago, and even though the bus clearly wasn't hurt visibly, we passengers had to to wait for the next bus along -- the T had to call in its own accident investigators, take pictures and so on, which makes sense.

I will testify, though, that buses are so big that you hardly notice it if a regular-size car rams into it. If the woman next to me hadn't been looking out the window when we were hit, I'd have wondered why the heck we were pulling over.
