Everybody's Sick

A plague ran rampant among the people who were involved with the big Halloween show at the Somerville Theatre (including me). The earliest-afflicted are now recovering, but many are still in the heavy throes of flu/bronchitis/pneumonia/etc symptoms. I'm curious how the rest of the neighborhood is doing. Have you gotten ill in the past month? Is anyone in need of help?

EDIT FOR CLARIFICATION: The local outbreak did not originate at the Somerville Theatre, and fortunately their staff was spared. Sorry if it sounded otherwise!

I came down with it 6 days after I saw the show.

The problem is that here in the 21st century, we don't have any immunity to the microbes of 70 years ago.

Haven't gotten sick yet, but felt like I was fighting off something yesterday.

To Clarify:

I would like to point out that none of the theater employees have been ill during or since the show, so please don't be afraid to come to the theater! We're not making people sick:)

So YOU'RE the reason that most of my friends and I are sick or sickish.

I started getting flu symptoms on Nov 1, having seen the show the night before. Still have a bit of a cough, but mostly better now.

My son was sick before the show ran; I do hope my husband, a cast member, wasn't a vector to everyone else!

Everyone's getting it. The Largely Mythological Husband and I both have it, and we didn't see your show.

Then in your cases, it's punishment.

If I catch the bastard(s)

that gave it to me!

A couple of my co-workers have been unwell, and experienced the laryngitis symptom that I've heard you and one other report. Now, perhaps they did see the Halloween show, but I do believe it's mostly just that something is going around and is rather widespread.

I have been spared so far, but considering that I'm among subway crowds, and touching subway poles and handles twice daily on weekdays, it wouldn't surprise me at all if I didn't escape entirely.

...and now you're making me want to do a 28 Days/Wicked mashup where all the flying monkeys have rabies. Damn you. ;)

I hope I am not in the early stages of IT. But I've got something, possibly
from Wednesday night.

I was sick about a week ago. The only symptoms were fatigue and a stuffiness in the head, but it took a week to shake it off.

I was lucky; so far I've avoided anything worse than a persistent cough. Which half my office has, so I can't even blame the Somerville community for it. (The reverse may not hold true; I didn't mean to import exotic viruses from Dorchester!)

Something's going around.....I had the same thing, all it is is a really nasty cold.

touching subway poles and handles twice daily on weekdays

You might want to think about wearing gloves on the subway. It has helped me.

Oh no! That'd be AWFUL!
