Renters Insurance Recommendation

Does anyone have a good renter's insurance recommendation?

Nancy Bender (http://www.nancybenderinsurance.com/) has been my insurance agent since I moved to greater Boston 11 years ago. Highly recommended.

I'll second Nancy Bender, if what you want is an agent and not to deal directly with the insurance companies.

Third.

I love Amica. They have done both my renter's insurance and my car insurance since 2002, in two states, and they've been great the entire time.

Ditto. And you get a discount for having both policies through them.

On the off chance that you or someone in your family is eligible, USAA is also a good choice for insurance.

Thirded. My parents have had them for YEARS, and when I moved, I went with them as well. They have been great; I'm really pleased with them.

when we had a car, we had both through them. now we just have home owners (for property.... have insurance through the condo association for the building)

i would like to hear what you're quoted for the other place! i'm such a cheapster that i've never followed through on getting renter's myself. i've got Arbella on College Ave for my auto, and i know they do a reduced rate for combined but i never looked into it...

Garrett Insurance (not Garrett Lynch Insurance) on College Ave has always been quite good to my family. (Nothing particularly for or against Garrett Lynch. Just no experience with them.)

If it's the little white house looking office, that's the right one.

Not at all sure who my renters' policy was from through them, back when I had one.

Wiseman

Had mine through Wiseman Insurance on Highland Ave in the Sq. (Premier was the insurer). Always helpful and quick to respond to questions.

Still have to get renter'smyself, but Amica never screws around on me for my car insurance, so I really trust them. Now if only they did health insurance... :P

I got mine through Alderman Jack Connolly, whose office is on College Ave. just north of the T station.

Me too; I've been very happy with them.
