Coyote...again

Hello everyone...just an fyi. I was walking up Francesca Ave on my way to the T this morning when a coyote ran past my wife and I.  I really couldn't believe it. It then took a hasty left on to Liberty Ave. I called the sighting into 311.

I know there were coyote sightings 2 years back.

Did anyone else see the coyote?

Yes. Around 8:45am, on Rogers & Josephine. Was equally surprised, also called it in.

Careful of your outdoor pets, everyone.

Tagging this 'pets' for want of a better choice. Coyotes have been seen in your neighborhood before ... here's a post from February 2008.

That is actually a very relevant tag, given what coyotes often eat in the suburbs.

Whoa. That is way close to my house! Thanks for the notice. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Yep, Mr. Yote was seen by several residents of Lexington Ave. trotting down the street, bold as you please. Sounds like it did a full tour of the 'hood!

I talked to someone this evening who saw it twice this morning, once on Lowell St and then on the bike path near Cedar.

we saw a peregrine falcon (eating a small bird) on the bike path just the other side of Davis (near 7 Hills Park) just the other day, and now a coyote? woahs. :)

We had a Sharp-Shinned Hawk on our back fence (Liberty/Bay State) Saturday morning, breakfasting upon what was probably a squirrel - although there's wasn't much evidence to go on at that point.

oh, actually, that might be what we saw, it was dusky (time) and hard to see clearly, but I didn't think I saw the face markings characteristic of a peregrine, and this looks pretty similar (with the hatching marks on the chest). Cool, thanks for the bit o' new knowledge
