Looking for a car rental service

I know there are many in the area, just looking for a recommendation.

Just need a small car for a few days, with unlimited miles.

Thanks in advance!

The Enterprise in Central Square often has the best prices in the area, and I've gotten excellent service from them.

There's also an Enterprise on Mystic Ave (near the intersection with Harvard St) that has good rates a lot of the time, especially on weekends, and I've never had bad service from them. I don't know about how good their pick-up/drop-off service is (I live close enough that I just walk there).

i've found the prices at the enterprise near fresh pond (a bit of a walk from Alewife) to be significantly cheaper than the one in central. It's crazy how much the price can vary for essentially the same thing.

The New Street one used to have lower prices than Central, but since it became a branch office of the Watertown Enterprise I find that the Central office generally tends to have lower prices. But not always.

But the New Street office tends to have weekend specials, which is a plus.

(The New Street office is about one inch from my house, so I would prefer to use them always if they had the lowest prices.)

oh, good to know. we haven't rented from them in awhile, so that must be a change. also, yes, the weekend special is usually what we end up using it for. :)

i generally just use kayak or travelocity and compare--every week sees different rental places with lower rates.

Enterprise near Assembly Square

The Cambridge Enterprise won't pick up in Somerville, but the Somerville location will. Negotiate with them until you get them down to $30 a day (the insurance rate), they'll often do it. Or search for coupons on the web, there are lots.

What does 'the insurance rate' mean? Do you mean the rate including liability or collision-damage waiver?

No, it's the rate most insurance companies reimburse, and it doesn't include any insurance coverage. Why, are you renting too?

Not right now, but I do occasionally rent cars. I miss the Enterprise we used to have in Davis Square.

Prolly won't get that good of a deal at this time of year.

I just did and so did the women in front of me in line.
