Optomotrist

Time to get new eye exam and new contacts/glasses. Looking for a recomendation for an optomotrist in the Davis/Porter/Ball/Magoun area.

I've been using one in Central Square and have been satisfied, but am curious about closer options.

ForEyes in Harvard Square

I actually use ForEyes in Harvard Square, and have been very happy with their optometrist, Alexandra Littlejohn. She's very nice and has a gentle touch, which is important to me. She also worked really hard with me to find contacts that worked for my eyes (I am very difficult when it comes to contacts; never thought I'd be able to wear them, but with her help, I can, now!). I have also bought frames, there, but I also buy frames lots of places that have different kinds of selections. This particular ForEyes, though, has a really large selection.

Parrelli Optical in the Porter Square Galleria is pretty good. I only go to them for eye exams though, as I buy all my glasses online. [It's way cheaper to buy glasses online.]

I had a very thorough exam at Parrelli Optical at Porter. I forget the name of the device, but they've got a doohicky that photographs the inside of your eye, which I haven't seen elsewhere yet. They're good with contacts, too.

For glasses, I went with zennioptical.com.

Zenni Optical rules! I got three pairs there for less than what one pair would cost at a brick & mortar shop.

I like Harvard Square Eye Care's Porter Square location. They do a good job with eye exams and have a great selection of frames.

I really like EyeQ in Harvard Square - not cheap, but I got great frames and the optometrist was really nice.

I second this. The doc is good, and the glasses are *stellar*.

I have a pair of glasses from there that are great. I have liked Harvard Square Eye Care in Porter Square quite a bit. I used to go to Central Square Eye Care, but they kept making small mistakes with my orders, and each visit turned into a production, so I switched.

I changed the tag to 'eye care'. You may want to look through old posts on the subject.

I like Dr. Bonny Weingarten at Parrelli Optical in Porter Square.

I agree with those who recommended Parelli Optical. They were polite and helpful and thorough, and didn't mind my coming back to get the glasses refitted slightly. They're in the Porter Square Galleria (the building right across from the Porter Square T).

I think the Harvard Vanguard office in Davis has an optomotrist and also does contact lens fittings.
