Recommendations for reliable, affordable Craigslist movers?

I created this account in 2006, but this is the first time I'm posting, though I've followed and enjoyed this community faithfully for years! I've used small-item delivery people for items bought on Craigslist a couple of times, but haven't always been totally satisfied and it's so hard to know from the listings who is or isn't reliable.

I hope this is relevant -- I do live in Davis and I assume other car-free residents who live around here sometimes have this question about how to get purchases home. I checked the tags and the closest I could find was "moving" but that seems to be more for moving house rather than a single item.

So does anyone have a good rec for a single-item mover? I need to move an armchair and hassock from a second floor in Concord to a first floor in Davis and would like to find someone reliable and who won't charge me an arm and a leg. Thanks in advance for any suggestions and feel free also to PM me!

have you looked at taskrabbit.com? this is the sort of thing they specialize in, it is usually pretty reasonable, and you can read the ratings of the rabbits, which means you can get a feel for them, and know that your feedback will also be noted.

That's what I was going to say!
