looking for event space & possibly event planner

Looking for suggestions for an inexpensive (few hundred $$) event space for 50-75 people, bar, dancing, band or DJ, possibly food.  Somerville would be great if there's parking, but I'm OK with surrounding communities.  I'm looking for late April and every place I've tried is already booked :(

I don't have much time to do this and am starting to freak out a bit as time slips away.  If anyone can suggest a reasonably priced event planner that can help, I'm all ears.

Dante Club on Porter St requires a member to sponsor the event.  If anyone is or knows a willing member, drop me a line!
Dilboy VFW seems to be a crapshoot with their recent permit issues.
Arlington Elks - booked
Cambridge VFW - booked
Springstep - booked
I'm going to check a few more local VFW/Legion/Elks type places, but most have sketchy details & no pics on their websites.

Thanks!!

Chris

I thought of Anthony's, too. Also, I don't know much about it, but the Sons of Italy right on the Medford line near Broadway might fit the bill.

Somerville City Club!! It has the large space upstairs, but also a smaller space downstairs.

Not speaking from experience, as I've been to the place only once a few months ago for a class:
Dance Union (aka Boston Tango Society) on Bow St in Union square.

There are photo of the space on this Zumba instructor's FB page; you can sort of get a sense of it around and behind all the people doing Zumba:

I think there is a smaller room at The Armory on Highland that you can rent.

Yeah, I would not touch the VFW. They tried to do their best by me, but they had to contact me last week that my July wedding would not be happening there. If they can't commit to July, I wouldn't bother calling them for April.

Depending on the event, I would suggest someplace like the Arlington Center for the Arts Theatre. It's a raw space that costs $35 an hour - they were my backup until the new bar Saloon heard about my wedding and offered me their space despite it being beyond my means.

The back room of the Burren? You can book that for private parties.

I've been to events that size at the Greek American Club in Central Square. Not a bad space.

Separately, one local event planner I know is LoLo Event Design (http://www.loloeventdesign.com/blog/). Not sure of her rates.

Try the Greek Church on Central Street, they have 2 different halls. Information on both on their website: http://www.dormitionchurch.org/

They were very helpful when I called for information, too.

What day and time frame? Are you flexible on those?

I haven't heard of this place. Where is it?

Together in Motion, right across the border in Arlington. Not sure why that got cut off. I'm not exactly sure if they do events like this.
