BostonSweeper to go on hiatus

There was a post last week about parking notifications. I thought I would share this email that I received from the BostonSweeper service that Boston.com has been running:

Hello,

Our records show that you are (or were) a subscriber to Boston.com's Boston Sweeper service. We're writing today to let you know that we've recently decided to suspend the service until further notice. Why? A few reasons, including recent changes to the street sweeping schedules in Boston and some general wear and tear over the last eight years that has left the service not as accurate or dependable as it should be.

We realize that the street sweeping season is underway, so here are some related resources that may help you keep track of when to move your car:

City of Boston street sweeping lookup

Cambridge street sweeping schedule

Somerville street sweeping (note, this is my link, the one from their email wasn't as good)

If you're interested in seeing Boston Sweeper return, please click here to take a brief survey.

Regards,
The Boston.com Team

Are those three items supposed to be links?

Thanks. For some strange reason LJ wasn't accepting my comments here a few minutes ago -- I'd press the "Add a comment" button and then nothing would happen.

This is obviously a conspiracy engineered by the greedy Mayor of Somerville.

I emailed Tom Champion when I got the Boston Sweeper announcement to suggest that Somerville start a similar service (they already have the 311 emails, etc. so it wouldn't be much of a stretch). Lo and behold... he replied that the city launched such a service at the end of March. Here's the link: http://www.somervillema.gov/sweeper (http://www.somervillema.gov/sweeper) Yay!

Now move da cars!
