children's books

I'm super excited to be a new kindergarten teacher in the somerville public schools this fall.  I am inheriting a classroom with almost no books and I am trying to build my classroom library in preparation. Do any of you have children's books that your kids are done with and you'd like to pass them along?  I'd be happy to pick them up.  I'm looking for picture story books, easy readers, age-appropriate non fiction.  Thanks!!  my email address is my username at yahoo if you want to email me.

My son, who is starting first grade next year, has some books he would like to donate. We are on Winter Hill in Somerville. If you are nearby, we can deliver them, or you can pick them up!

I know you are looking for donations, but I would also recommend checking out the Little Fox Shop at the Fox Library in Arlington (near the Capitol Theatre). They have a kids' resale shop and lots of books for fairly cheap. They have kind of strange hours, though, open only during the week. Good luck!

Did you check out these folks and see if they have any appropriate leftovers?

The Cambridge Recycling Center's book swap shelves have a lot of children's books. http://www.cambridgema.gov/theworks/ourservices/recyclingandtrash/aboutrecycling/dpwrecyclingcenter.aspx

You're supposed to be a Cambridge resident, but I've never seen them check.
