Rug cleaners? Not ones that come to your home.

I have a small (about 3x5) wool rug that needs cleaning. It's small enough that I could take it to a cleaning place; it feels silly to call out the sorts of cleaners that come to your house. It's a very special piece to me - hand-woven by Bedouin women in Jordan - so I want to be careful with it. Would dry cleaners be able to handle something like this?

I use Regal Fabric Care in Woburn. You can drop stuff off or have them come pick it up. I would never use a dry cleaner for that, for a variety of reasons - not sure they can intelligently spot test; strongly doubt they have alternative chemicals if what they standardly use will damage the rug; and have had dry cleaners assure me items were safe for them to clean and have them come back ruined. Ymmv.

Maybe that Persian Rug store/restorer/cleaner over by Fresh Pond? I stink because I don't know the name. I'm pretty sure it's on Concord Avenue, though.

There's also Capone Carpet Cleaning out on Beck St. in Arlington - I've dropped my rugs off there once a year for several years & mostly don't have any complaints (just one larger heavy rug got some stretching this year along the sides so it took months before it lay flat, but that shouldn't affect one as small as yours).

My fiance is planning on bringing our Oriental rugs to Koko Boodakian and Sons in Winchester for cleaning.
