Fireworks last night, 10 - 10:30 pm?

I was bicycling across Somerville last night, east to west, between 10 and 10:30 pm, and heard lots of faraway loud booms that sounded like fireworks. I didn't see any fireworks. Anyone know what this was?

Revere Beach had fireworks scheduled last night, but those were supposed to be at 9 pm.

We heard them in Magoun Square- my spouse said something about fireworks in Cambridge.

Not sure what it was though definitely curious!

I heard some from the Waltham/Newton line, though it sounded like they were coming from the south somewhere (and this was at around 9)

I saw them come up from near my place. I'd guess a residence near Otis St. and Rte. 28. We've actually heard a whole lot of "residential" fireworks near us pretty constantly since July 1 or so, and it's getting irritating.

I don't imagine any group or municipality is setting off "legitimate" fireworks at 10:00-10:30p, but I could be wrong.

We were at Revere Beach for the fireworks, they lasted til about 9:30. I didn't hear anything later (in Malden), though.

I also heard similar about the same time last night in Waltham/Newton - series of muffled pops/booms. Though it sounded to me like they were coming from sort of north and east, maybe toward Watertown?
