Kickass Cupcakes leaving Davis Square, moving up the hill

According to Eater.com, Kickass will close its Davis Square storefront on April 30. They are moving their retail operation up the hill to their bakery space at 199C Highland Ave, near the Armory.

Ah, thanks. I've been meaning to ask who in that section is leaving, since they have a "for lease" sign up on the side of the building. Though the way the sign is worded suggests that maybe more than one place is closing.

Since Kickass occupies two storefronts, I'm guessing there's an opportunity to lease one or both.

Oh, duh, right. I was thinking that they used to occupy two, then shrunk to one. But I guess they actually shrunk from three to two.

No, they have two. One has their sign on it and the other had a sign taken down. That's why the for-lease sign indicated the possibility of two spaces or one larger one.

Not much of a loss. I hope something interesting moves into the storefront, although it's a pretty small space.

Are they leaving because of rent/landlord issues, or does it just make more sense to consolidate the operation?

Good riddance to bad cupcakes.

Oh man, am I the only person who thinks they're tasty?

I've tried them on three occasions, and each time, they were very dry, very small, and very expensive. The frosting in two cases was so wet that it slid off the cupcake when I bit in. Employees were borderline surly each time. I won't be sad they're moving.
