Fabric shopping

What are people's favorite nearby fabric stores? Particularly looking for a good selection of Polarfleece.

Thanks.

It's not on the T, but this place has great fleece: http://www.milldirecttextiles.com/ And for ordering click through to their order site: http://www.millyardage.com/

If you get on the mailing list you get sales and discounts too.

Define "local"?

Sew-Low in Cambridge and Sewfisticated in the Twin Cities Plaza are both very hit or miss (discount fabric stores) but sometimes have big fleece selections. Most Jo-Ann's have ENORMOUS fleece selections, especially the one in Natick. But that's far.

There's a Joann's in Burlington, too, also kind of far. Nowadays it feels like Joann's is almost entirely fleece!

The closest places with decent selections are Sewfisticated and Sew-Low. Fabric Corner in Arlington has a great selection, but their prices are so bonkers that it's hard to recommend them.

Honestly, I usually just make the drive to Jo-Ann when I need fabric, because their selection and prices are best.

Sew-Fisticated and Sew-Low are good bets for fleece. I don't think I've ever seen fleece at Fabric Corner, though they have enviable gorgeous batik/hand-dyed and fancy quilting and decorator prints that are all beautiful. T accessible places I think are all in Chinatown, but I know that a lot of what used to be there has closed.

Winmil is still around but I don't recall ever seeing fleece there.

My favorite fabric stores are Fabric Corner in Arlington and Cambridge Quilt Shop, but they are not what you're looking for. Fabric Corner has some fleece (maybe a dozen bolts to choose from?) but CQS has none.

Winmil Fabric (http://www.yelp.com/biz/winmil-fabric-boston) in Boston, near the Downtown Crossing T stop - I think they have fleece, but call ahead to make sure.

Another vote for Sewfisticated here; if you get on their mailing list you'll get periodic "entire store 20% off" sorts of deals. (Seems likely enough that there'd be another one this weekend, but who knows; the owner is.... a bit of a personality.)

Yeah. I feel like that's an important note on Sewfisticated. They have great stuff at great prices but don't expect to get less than 1/2 a yard of it, and don't expect a customer-service-oriented experience or you might leave feeling very offended.

This is likely stretching your definition of "nearby", but I'd recommend Fabric Place Basement in Natick for a really large selection of good quality fabrics (including fleece) at reasonable prices.
