Boston Militia Announcement
Boston Militia Staff, January 5, 2015
It is with heavy heart that I announce the discontinuation of the Boston Militia. The limited numbers of teams in the Northeast has resulted in a reduced schedule over the last few years, causing the professional level of competition to decline.

Footnote: it appears from the team Facebook post that at least some of the players weren't informed of the move ahead of time:

In 2014, they played in the regular season:
DC twice
Cleveland twice
Chicago
Plus 2 forfeits... meaning 5 actual games with only the DC games competitive.
Then in the playoffs, they faced... DC, Cleveland and Chicago. Their 16 point win over DC was their closest game.
And the finals against San Diego.
It was a 4 team conference, essentially.
I'm not sure if the league is having trouble, but I wouldn't be surprised considering the way sports leagues have a hard time holding together.
