Optician

I checked the tags, but there's not one for opticians.  I need glasses made up, today, preferably.  Anybody have one they like?

(I've never heard anything good about Saragas, in the square -- not that I've heard anything bad, but surely someone would have praised it by now?)

Bonus points if it is somewhere that I can park easily -- which eliminates most of downtown Boston.

You might check out Parrelli Optical in Porter Square galleria -- they have parking and a very decent selection of frames. Not sure about their turnaround time.

If speed is the biggest factor, you could go to the Lenscrafters in Everett. They have ample parking and have turned around glasses quickly for me before.

There is a tag, "eye care". I added it to your post. I also recommend Parrelli.

It's been a couple of years since the last such post, so I'm happy to see a new discussion of this topic.

Sounds like definitely time for new glasses then! ;-)

I'm quite fond of Medford Optical. Nice people, give me good advice on what will flatter my face (and they don't just steer me toward the most expensive stuff). Have never had trouble parking near there, except insofar as driving in Medford Center is adventuresome.

Saragas is appalling. I had a terrible experience there and recommend against it.

I love Parelli - you can park there, you probably can't get glasses same day. They are on the high end side and are best for people with serious eye issues.
gingicat: deep purple lilacs, some buds, some open (just me - ginger)

The Everett Costco has a great optical department, and since their doctor is an optometrist, visits to her are often covered by insurance.

They send their glasses out, so definitely not same-day. I think it was more like a week when I had them fill a scrip.
