road construction around Davis?

Does anyone have any info on the duration of the roadwork in and around Davis? When combined with the roadwork around Porter Sq., the traffic has been a hairball of mythic proportions this week, and getting from Winter Hill to North Cambridge an exercise in frustration.

Relatedly, is there any way to get better coordination between Somerville road maintenance and Cambridge road maintenance?

I'm not sure if this will be helpful to you, but this is what I can find about roadwork in Somerville:

From what I saw last night, Highland Ave in Davis Square looks to be done. That was remarkably quick compared to what I have experienced in Waltham and Lexington, where I work. Waltham Street in Lexington was torn up for at least 4 weeks before they actually repaved it, with no other discernible work going on on the street.

There was a notice from Jackie Rossetti earlier in the week:

Weather permitting, on Tuesday, Sept. 20, City contractors will be milling Highland Ave. between Cutter Ave. and College Ave., in anticipation of repaving. Work will be conducted between the hours of 7 a.m. and approximately 4 p.m. During that time, this portion of Highland Ave. will be closed to vehicle and bicycle traffic. Vehicles and bicycles traveling west on Highland Ave. will be detoured at Willow Ave.

In the event of heavy rain, milling will be delayed by one day. Paving operations are expected to take place on Thursday, 9/21, however you will be notified in advance of that work.
