Dr. Leavey's new practice

In case anyone's looking for Dr. Leavey (who left Porter Sq. Vet a month or two ago), she's gone back to her old practice at City Cats (formerly The Cat Doctor) in Arlington. 781-641-3673.

Luckily I remembered hearing that she'd gone back to her old practice, because I just called Porter Sq. Vet to ask for her new contact info and they told me they "don't have it". I asked what they were doing to connect her old clients to her, they informed me they were recommending other doctors at their own practice. All of which I find extremely obnoxious -- my cats have been seeing Dr. Leavey for 10 years, and followed her *to* Porter Sq. Vet several years ago. The fact that they're refusing to give out her new contact info is shameful. Also bullshit, because I asked them a month ago to forward my cats' files to her new place and they said they'd take care of it (of course, City Cats is now trying to determine whether Porter Sq. ever did actually forward them). Maybe it's just one obnoxious person over at Porter Sq. but I'm really shocked.

Yeah, I've had several bad experiences with Porter Square Pet. Several doctors there (never had the pleasure of getting to see Dr. Leavey) failed to figure out what was wrong with my sweet Pooh Bear for the last two years of his life (even though I pretty much diagnosed it myself, through lots of research) and then when he died, they refused to let me have the x-rays, saying that their policy was to keep them for 5 years (they couldn't give me a reason, of course).

If I need to take my other cat to the vet, I'll make sure to check out Dr. Leavey.

While it's understandable that they'd want to keep the originals for a number of reasons (in case you lost them, in case they needed them if you sued them, etc), they should be able to give you copies for a fee.

Dr. Leavey has always been great to my kitties.

That's funny, because I go to Porter Square, and I asked where Dr. Leavey had gone to report back to this list...and they just told me.

That's bizarre. While I did get more obnoxious (and incredulous) as the conversation went on, I certainly don't think I did anything that would have pissed her off initially, all I did was ask for the name and number of the practice Dr. Leavey moved to. I had generally good experiences with Porter Sq Vet while she was there, and they were nice a month ago when I asked them to send over the files. Perhaps they've lost a lot of clients with her transition and thus have gotten pissier about it? How long ago did you ask them?
