Slacker Thanksgiving Host

I've been up to my eyeballs in work and school and just realized that I haven't bought my Thanksgiving turkey yet. Is it too late to get a fresh turkey? If not, where can I find one? I'm not worried about getting the best deal on a turkey, but I do have a strong preference for a free range, grain-fed bird. I also don't mind hiking to the other side of town, if necessary, to buy one, although obviously the closer to home the better.

Thanks!

They don't have any free-range grain-fed at Shaw's, but if you call Wild Harvest, they can tell you if they have any left and perhaps even set one aside for you.

There are some turkeys running around the Boston suburbs, so they're certainly free-range. I doubt they eat much grain, however.

The Whole Foods on Prospect is taking orders until noon Tuesday, I believe.

if a really fresh local turkey will do for you, stop by McKinnon's... they always over-order, so odds are that they'll have extras. not organic, but very good.
