Entry tags:

tailor / seamstress

i know this has been asked before, but i didn't pay attention back then and now i can't find the posts (i am using tags now!).

i need to get a bridesmaid dress tailored.

i also need to get some pants hemmed.

i may also need to get a tear repaired in a leather jacket.

looking for cheap and good. if you could approximate the costs, that would be great.
thanks!

edit: how do i add more tags like "tailor" and "seamstress"?

I've only gone to 'Eleni of New York' for very minor things, like torn pockets on a parka, but give her a try.

I've gone to Eleni for major tailoring work. She did a great job for a really resonable price. And, you can't beat the location.

Leather Jacket repair

When my husband tore the pocket of his leather jacket, he took it to (I forget the tailor's name. but the place is) on Mass Ave in Porter Sq, on the same block as the Newtowne Grill and the small 02140 post office. As I recall, there is a sign on the window that says "Leather Repair" or something like that. I don't remember how much it cost (it was ~ 4 years ago), but they did an amazing job.

For my regular tailoring needs, I go to Winn Cleaners on College Ave.
