On a search.

I must find the best Boston Cream Pie for my father's birthday.

I need your help.
Has anyone found a spectacular Boston Cream Pie out there?

No, but if you find yourself in Watertown the Boston Creme Pie dessert at the Deluxe Town Diner (http://www.deluxetowndiner.com/) is yummy.

Omni Parker House is where it originated. I bet they'd sell whole ones.

Yes, I think they do. I've had their Boston Cream in their restaurant -- it's pure heaven.

Word is that Petsi Pies has the best pies in town. I don't know if they do Boston Cream, but I would be surprised if they didn't. They're at 285 Beacon St. Somerville, MA 02143, (617) 661-PIES

Yeah, but Boston Cream Pie is a cake, not a pie.

Boston Cream is actually a cake, not a pie... i don't think i've ever seen one in Petsi's.

I like the ones at Lyndells in Ball Sq (although I admit I haven't had one anywhere else) In addition to the big ones, they sell little ones that feed 1-2 people, if you want to try one out before committing to a big cake.

I think that the defining boston cream pie is the one that they sell at the S&S, which is the same one that they sell at the Town Deluxe Diner, so whichever is closest is probably your best bet. It's somehow denser and the chocolate goes along the sides as well as on top.
