Diesel Closed this week?

Anyone know what the renovations are that are closing Diesel this week?

A friend told me they are putting boths in the front section where tables and chairs are now.

That totally bugs me whenever I'm in there looking for seating. I've been in some coffee-houses where management requires people to share their tables if it's busy, and I think Diesel ought to. If I had designed seating in there I wouldn't have gotten those big booths at all. One long padded bench along the entire wall with lots of little tables with a chair all along that. Pack those people in!

I think the answer to this is to simply start sharing them whenever you find this situation....

I hate table sharing with strangers. And I don't like places where seating is too packed. But, I don't hog whole booths to myself during busy times (and usually not even during not-busy times) in cafes. A small table with a single chair is fine for me.

A solution somewhat like you suggest is a good one--a bench with tables, plus some tables with chairs only. Having an adequate supply of small tables and movable chairs is good because it makes the space more flexible--it can accommodate both singles and crowds and the range that's in between.
