Ball Square Cafe

I noticed today that the Ball Square Cafe is opening soon where Sound Bites used to be. (I have to say, I like the sign--the way the word "cafe" forms a teacup, and the steam makes the sqiggly ells in "Ball.")

Has the customer service of Soundbites improved at all since they moved to a bigger place? Though it seems the lines are even longer now.

weekdays, people

Soundbites is still pleasant service on weekdays. If you're a regular, Yassir often gives you a plate of fruit on the house.

But, on the weekend, if the line is ridiculous, they respond in kind.

More competing breakfast would make all the area services improve.

I hope one of the places labelled "cafe" learns to be open til 11 pm too. (Soundbites now has a full bar license, so they may start having evening hours.)

And yet - I have been plenty of very busy line-out-the-door places, and people may be a bit frazzled but they're still polite and nice! Crazytalk for people here, I know.

But I don't want to only get good service on weekdays, therefore they don't get my business and I won't recommend that place to anyone.

We ate at SB yesterday, and the line moved slightly more quickly. We also got in faster because a waitress came out looking for the next party of 2, which was us. They gave us the VIP free fruit plate. Food was great. The only glitch was that the busboy disappeared with our bill/money and we had to wait about 10 minutes to get our change. Nobody knew where our money went. So, overall it's basically the same experience as in the old place.

(Oh, I can hear Yasir out the window right now. He lives next door, and drowns out all the airplanes. ;-))
