bridesmaid dress tailoring

I'm looking for recommendations for a tailor for a bridesmaid gown. Someone nearer to Davis is better of course, though I do have a car, and if they are open after 5 PM and/or on weekends, even better still.

Thanks!

Janette in Arlington, right on Mass Ave. Good prices and flexible hours, including weekends. Excellent work and you won't get ripped off.

Janette's got my wedding dress right now. She's the queen of all things bridal. I'd give her a call.

I feel like there have been a lot of alterations-related posts in the last couple months, but Eleni of New York by Diesel is who I've recommended.

I took a bridesmaid dress (silk shantung? I forget) to Elegant Tailor on Mass Ave, between Porter & Harvard last spring. They did a great job -- I needed it hemmed and had to have the strap (it's a halter) shortened. I forget what I paid, but it seemed okay. I've had a good experience there with getting dress pants hemmed, too. As I recall, they're not open late but I think they're open on weekends.

I had to have significant alteration on a bridesmaid's dress recently. I went to Mt. Auburn Tailoring on Mt. Auburn Street in Watertown. The tailor there specializes in bridal stuff. She has been fabulous, and I highly, highly recommend her.
