Diners in Davis

I was up at Killington yesterday and on the way back stopped at a fabulous "food from here"  diner in Quechee called Farmers Diner (www.farmersdiner.com).  I asked where else they were going, and they said they were looking up in Burlington VT but also were considering of all places Davis Square and other communities in and around Boston.  Knowing how into, or not into, our food establishments we are here, would this be something we could or would support?

Well, low-carbon-footprint food is quite the rage nowadays, so now'd be the time to expand. But how well would they be able to stick to their "food from here" mission in an urban area like this? How local is local?

More importantly, how could we help make it so they could set themselves up as a real diner? (Meaning, being open 24 hours.)

First, find them a location not in Somerville.

Find some place on Mass. Ave in North Cambridge and you're golden.

(oh, Somerville, why must you forsake us our 24-hour goodness?)

Their current location closes at 3 pm or 8 pm, depending on the day, so this is not how we get a 24-hour diner.
