LOST: Kangol cap, 2XL, navy blue

A long shot, but if anyone sees a Kangol cap on the sidewalk in Davis Square today, please pick it up and let me know. Odds are it's mine.

Details: navy blue, 2XL, Kangol cap (the '504' style, if your hat game is tight and that means anything)

I lost it somewhere between the front door of JP Licks and the corner of Chester St and Mass Ave on Monday night, between 8:30 PM and 9:00 PM. I immediately went back out and retraced my steps, but no one had seen it and I couldn't spot it.

I can replace it, but not easily (very few people stock a 2XL). Plus, I really liked that hat. :\

(Already posted to the L&F on Craigslist)

anyone want some wedding magazines?

I have some wedding magazines (from the last year or so) gathering dust. They probably have some things clipped out here and there, but they're mostly intact and good for ideas.  Let me know if you want them! I have 3 Martha Stewart Weddings, 2 Brides, 1 Bridal Guide.

Anyone have an older Mac laptop they'd sell me for cheap?

I'm already scouring Craigslist and eBay, but thought I'd try here too. I've got about $200 to spend on a Mac laptop, at least a G4. I've already got a 12" iBook G4 with a fried motherboard that I can use for parts to supplement, if you have one that's got some problems (other than the motherboard). Of course, if you've got any kind of G4 or better that's in good shape, that you're also willing to sell for $200, that's even better. :-)

takedown!

I've been in touch with the guy who runs the brooklyn-based Chili Takedown, an Iron-Chef-style bake sale/competition (there have also been Bacon Takedowns, Cookie Takedowns, etc.) about bringing this to Boston. It's amazing! Their last even featured bacon ice cream and coverage by Good Morning America!

The problem is that Boston food-handling and service regulations seem to be a bit stricter than NYC. He's looking for a bar-venue with a 250+ capacity and liquor license. My restaurant-industry contacts (all Boston-city-based) say that all food has to be prepared in professional health-inspected kitchens. This leaves us with either the Cyclorama or Dilboy VFW Hall, and I'm not sure he's willing to pay a $5000+ rental fee. And I really want this to come to the Boston area!

So, does anyone know if maybe Somerville/Allston/Cambridge has less strict regulations than Boston proper? Or any suggestions of how to arrange this with a genuine bar venue?
