Anyone have an older Mac laptop they'd sell me for cheap?

I'm already scouring Craigslist and eBay, but thought I'd try here too. I've got about $200 to spend on a Mac laptop, at least a G4. I've already got a 12" iBook G4 with a fried motherboard that I can use for parts to supplement, if you have one that's got some problems (other than the motherboard). Of course, if you've got any kind of G4 or better that's in good shape, that you're also willing to sell for $200, that's even better. :-)

I have a 12'' ibook G4 with a broken monitor. I took it to the Apple store out of curiosity, and was told it would cost upwards of $130 to fix. For what it's worth, it does have a fairly new battery that I purchased about 6 months ago.

I'd happily take $200 for it, but would like some time to get my files off of it and wipe the hard drive. I should be able to get to that this weekend if you're interested. Let me know!

This would be a fantastic idea, to combine my old one with yours, but... I can't for the life of me get the screen off mine. (Were you the person who posted on Freecycle looking for a screen recently?) I've pretty much destroyed the screws trying to unscrew them. They are on so damn tightly! But I'll check with an expert or two to see if it's doable.

On the other hand, if I end up finding one that works somewhere else, I could give you my screen (I've consulted the experts, and it looks like the screen can indeed come off reasonably easily.)

Ok, sounds good either way you decide. Nope, that wasn't me on freecycle...I hadn't decided what to do with it yet, but might consider hacking the monitor off if you want to unload yours :)

I have a G3 white iBook that I only use for watching movies as the backlight is fubarred to the point where I need a binderclip on one of the wristrests to pressure where the backlight connection is wonky....if the parts from this would be compatible, I'd sell it off for about $100 (as I said, only use is for watching movies).

Thanks, but I've already gotten two G3's for free (one from Freecycle and one from a friend), and they just can't do the things I need to do with them (Photoshop, for example, makes the poor things go into little computer fits). I appreciate the offer though. :-)

I've got an iBook G4 that I'm not using for anything anymore (since picking up a Macbook Pro). Works great, though the battery's old enough that I'd generally just keep it plugged in while it was running; a replacement battery would take care of that.
