Flatbread Company's pizzeria/bowling alley opens this Saturday

Enroute to the Farmer's Market today I saw smoke coming from Flatbread Co's chimneys so I went to have a look. Sure enough they were firing up the ovens. The manager invited me inside for a look and said the place would be opening on Saturday.

When I walked by a few minutes ago, the two rightmost bowling lanes were lit up and someone was testing them out by rolling one ball after another down them.

One thing I don't see -- any seats or scoring tables next to the bowling lanes. I hope these are still to be installed, rather than an oversight by a new owner who doesn't know much about bowling.

Edit: when I stopped in again Thursday night, some portable seats and tables had been placed here.

I am excited by this. I like this chain's pizza/flatbread. I like this chain's beer selection. I like this chain's family friendly service (hopefully this will be true in this location as well). I also like bowling.

Opening Saturday at 5 pm, according to a sign posted on the door.

Tonight they had a very busy "friends and family" party. I walked around for a few minutes, and it looked great!

The "Flatbread Co" chain is actually a spin-off from the original "American Flatbread" thats was started in Waitsfield Vermont, so now there are two small chains. There was a bit of a falling out between the original creator or "American Flatbread" and the owner of "Flatbread Co".

I think the pizza and atmosphere of both are equally good, but the original location in an old farmhouse in Vermont is still the best.

Interesting, hadn't heard about that one. I did hear that American Flatbread recently sold the frozen pizza business and will no longer make the frozen ones in Waitsfield.
