Somerville gets its own Patch

As Ron mentioned before, Patch.com is opening a Somerville site, and it'll debut at 1:30pm tomorrow at somerville.patch.com.

I've worked with the Patch folks, helping to assemble their local listings; they've got a good, dedicated local crew and the editor, Denise Taylor, is great and will be doing some local coverage herself (this is very much the whole "send a reporter to meetings" kind of thing).

If you'd like events to be covered, contact Denise directly at deniset@patch.com.

This is good news. Patch does a good job, at least on the Brookline site. It will be good to have more credible press coverage in Somerville.

Wonder how they make money. Or does Microsoft just pay the bills?

Microsoft? Patch is owned by AOL.

(Dan, if you make somerville.patch.com into a live link, you'll get more traffic.)

Right, AOL. That's what I meant!

Okay, ignorant, what's patch.com?

Lexington Patch has been around for a few months and will give you some idea what these sites are like. I have a friend who writes for Lexington Patch.

Now that Somerville Patch is live, I added a link to it under 'Useful Links' in this community.

Unfortunately, with a free account we are limited to 10 links. To add this one, I had to remove the one for ARTSomerville (Nave Gallery).

Hey, Portuguese translations! Huge, huge win.
