What's in the fomer ZIng Pizza location?

Last Saturday around 6pm there were about 30-40 people lined up in front of the former Zing Pizza location. Just wondering what's moved in there. Apparently it's popular.

A really hot ramen noodle place called Yume Wo Katare.

This ramen place. I've been trying to calculate for months the time of day least likely to have a massive line, except there doesn't seem to be one.

Maybe you could call and ask them?

too scary

We have passed it twice when there was no line, but we were surprised. It's apparently extremely popular! :)

30 minutes before it opens. Worth it. Eat in & cash only.

You realize it takes about 15 minutes to make very very good ramen? Ramen is awesomem but only worth it when its basically fast food. These lines are a good sign there's unmet need, hopefully it'll become a trend :)

Not if you're making your own broth. That stuff takes time.

dashi takes about an hour and can be frozen. miso broth takes about 30 seconds.

But the super-silky, uberporky stock with the little bits in and that bears a stunning resemblance to http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2012/02/rich-and-creamy-tonkotsu-ramen-broth-from-scratch-recipe.html (http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2012/02/rich-and-creamy-tonkotsu-ramen-broth-from-scratch-recipe.html)? That takes TIME, man. Like, several hours at the very least.

Of course, part of eating out is also the experience. If waiting in line and sitting in a small restaurant elbow-to-elbow with other diners is really not your bag, no matter how good the food is, then don't go. There's tons of other people more than willing to take your spot.

Yes to the super silky, uberporky stock.

Last night I showed up right at 7pm and there was only one person in line ahead of me. I don't know if it was a fluke or if that's a usual lull, but it's the information I have at hand!

If ever there was a place that would benefit from an open access waitcam, it's Yume Wo Katare.

It's pretty delicious. I don't know that it's totally worth the line, but if you have people to stand around with, and noodles-with-pork works for you, it's not a bad plan.

I would regret not making one final trip before I left the country, were it not for the fact that there's a noodle soup joint on every street corner here, as well as a really good ramen chain. Advantages of being on home-adjacent turf, I guess. But I really did enjoy the crap out of their ramen the last time I went. It was all about the noodles and pork and garlic.

I went last week at 6:30 and only waited 20 minutes. Well worth the wait, on par with the better ramen places in Tokyo IMHO.
