beware price increase at Rockin' Fitness

Hi folks,

I was just made aware of an increase in the monthly membership fee at the Rockin' Fitness in Porter Square (used to be Planet Fitness). I only found out through my bank. It's gone from ten bucks/month to $14.99. They say they sent out notices about a month ago, but I never got one. Did anyone who's a member there get this notice? It's not that big an increase but I think they could have made it a lot more obvious. Say by putting signs up in the gym.

Just so y'all know.

This won't end well

When you consider the online interactions these guys had just about a year ago...

I got a notice in the mail. I'm quitting this week, btw -- $10/month is fine to pay for the quality they offer, but $15 is just a bit too much (and I actually have a free gym at work, even if it has less reliable hours)

This doesn't make a lot of sense to me now that Boston Sports Club in Davis Square has $19.95/month membership. Isn't BSC a much nicer gym?

There's a lot to be said for proximity.

I got no notice, though they claimed they sent one. I'm intending to quit this weekend and immediately tell my bank to stop any payment to them.

IMO, a 50% increase is a lot. They seem to have been shady all along.

Normal

i think that four bucks is a normal increase
