Assembly Row Farmers' Market

I'm over there twice a week for bootcamp, and on Saturdays for free yoga, and I only accidentally found out about this farmers' market yesterday.

I'm not going to check it out today because there's a giant walk-a-thon thing going on that looked like it was going to be too crowded for my tastes. But I'll be going to future ones to check it out.

Also: can I have an Assembly tag?

Here's your tag. Eventually I may get around to retro-tagging old posts about the place.

I looked through "development" and added "assembly row" to some posts there, but a second set of eyes is worth having.

I'm glad to hear about this! I'll check it out on the later side, when I get back from Medford.

I went to the market today around 1:30. It seemed fairly small. At first glance it looked big, but that ended up being because a lot of the tents I saw were set up for the walkathon. There were a couple of produce vendors, a sustainable meat vendor, a fishmonger, a confectioner, a pasta vendor, and a couple of other things that escape my memory. I'd hoped for more produce. I got some lovely turnips that will be going into my dinner tonight (along with their greens) and a pint of strawberries.

In my experience, all the farmers' markets in the area are pretty much the same -- same vendors and same selection. You go to the one that is most convenient (day/location). From your description, this one sounds no different. Why would I want to haul over to Assembly to get the same stuff I could get closer to home in Union, Davis, or even Harvard Yard?

(I hope this doesn't sound confrontational; I'm genuinely curious)

If that's closer to home for you, makes sense for you to go there. For me, Assembly is the closest one. I'm not suggesting people go there instead of other places if they have no reason to do so.

Unfortunately, it won't be happening this year. I received e-mail from both Relish Management and Assembly Row, confirming this.
