No more Stah Mahket in Porter Square

It looks like some time in the past week or two, they finally changed all of the signage to say Shaw's.

We'll keep on calling it a Star for years yet.

The important bit is to keep giving foreigners directions involving Star Market.

Yeah, I noticed it on Monday so I wonder if it happened over the weekend?

Given how everyone I know still refers to "the Osco lot", I'm not worried about personally making that transition. Maybe 10 years from now I'll adjust.

I wish the sign would change again and say "Wegman's."

"Market Basket" would be good enough.

The sale flyer that ended 2 days ago announced the name change, so they should've finished by 9 days ago, at least.

And yeah, it'll be Star for the next 20 years at least.

Especially when giving directions.

At least, for the time being, they won't be changing the signage to Albertson's in the near future.

I can't imagine what "SuperValu" sounds like in the local accent.

With Albertson's now on the selling block, perhaps they will skip changing to that name and just go straight to the next new name.

At this stage, it might end up being Tesco or Wal-Mart.
