Soundbites (ball square)

It's one of my favorite local places, but, absolutely don't go there on a busy weekend.

When I go before work, during the week, I never have problems like this person did.

(And no, I doubt it's a gender thing, so must as a neurotic waiter thing.)

I wonder about the couple that was there before this woman showed up and was still around. Of course, "quietly sipping coffee" is a lot less likely to get attention than having a loud, animated conversation.

Having never been to Sound Bites, I can't say from experience, but almost everyone I know who has says the same thing, the staff really rushes you through your meal to get you out. I think that Zagat's guide even says something similar, at least for weekends.

The food supposedly makes up for it. Still, I'm too fond of Neighbourhood Restaurant for breakfast, which is closer to me, to give Sound Bites a try right now.

I've often gone there with my girlfriend on Sunday mornings when it was very crowded. They've got signs up asking people not to linger because there's a line halfway down the block, and the waiters can be a little pushy, but I've never had any problems like what's described in that article.

damn. good food is no excuse for poor behavior. my house makes the bestest brunch around and part of what makes it so wonderful is the time we get to spend with friends as we take the time to eat our crepes/pancakes/biscuits & gravy or whatever else we're eating. jeez what an asshole. i am totally telling everyone i know who lives in the area to not go.

Who'da thunk it . . .

When I found the article and passed it on, I didn't expect this sort of response :) Cool. (Note to self: post interesting things in your own journal, silly.)

True, they do rush you, even to the definite point of rudeness. But, in this case, I see it as a positive-they are SO popular, and it's so small-because they rush everyone so, even when there's a huge line, you never have to wait very long, and that is exactly why! So I don't complain-the food is good, and if I just want a place to sit and linger for many hours, I'll choose another place for that outing.
