the final days of Mr.Crepe?

i just wanted to inform you, the denizens of davis sq.
that mr. crepe will be closing at the end of sept.

the purpose of this post is two fold...

1) so those of you that enjoy this fine eating establishment
know that you have a limited time to continue to indulge in crepey goodness

2) to ask if any of you know of available retail space
anywhere in the area of camberville

as of right now there is no new location for mr.crepe
the owners are scouting for spaces but have yet
to come up w/ anything that is viable

just wanted to spread the word on this, since as an employee there
i'm aware that mr.crepe has a loyal, and generally friendly, following

#8^D~

Wow. That's terrible - I assume the lease was up and the rent was raised or something?

I know there's renovation going on in the empty bldg on the corner of Winthrop & Boston Ave -maybe there?

nooooooo! that is my absolute favorite place to eat in all of boston! i guess it's just another sign that i should continue with my upcoming move from the city. without mr. crepe, i don't know if it would be worth staying. :)

weird, because i just moved from the house behind the convenience store right there and when moving out i thought, "better eat lots of crepes before i move 'cause i'm gonna miss it." turns out even if i had stayed in the 'hood it've been gone anyway. makes me feel better about moving even if it does suck for all you folks still living in the square.

We lived that close to each other? *boggle*

yep. just think, we probably SAW each other too! we might have even exchanged a "hello" or two. :::gasp:::

Augh! I swear we are in there every other night. Looks like we're going to have to get our crepe on before it's too late. :/

there's some boarded-up space on Medford Street just out of Magoun Square. Don't know how nice it is inside, though...

Maybe space in Ball Square? the old CVS, etc.?

I've been trying to find out what's going into that old CVS space. According to the liquor store owner, it's been split in half, and the corner side will be boring business offices (yuck). He said the other side is supposed to be either a 7-11 or some variety of generic Quicki-Mart, which we actually do need. Crepes would be nice, though.

i have a suspicion that a specialty shop such as a Crepe place needs relatively high foot traffic. that's completely out of thin air, though -- maybe crepes are the sort of food that people will travel to get to. i know that i tend not to travel to food when i have so many options in walking distance.

i hope Mr Crepe finds a place in or around davis square -- i like being able to walk down to it. (soon i'll be a much longer walk from davis, though!)

Oh, how terrible! I've been eating there a lot more lately since I (like my former hosuemate [livejournal.com profile] dykeprincess) am moving out of the square and Mr. Crepe will no longer be the closest restaurant to my house. But I'd been looking forward to visiting!

There's an empty retail space on the strip of Mass Ave. between Porter and Harvard Squares. It's not very far from the Cambridge Common/Lizard Lounge, Made by Me pottery, etc., and would be a quick walk from either square as well as the Harvard and Lesley campuses. Plus then it'd be close to my office :D :D.

Bummer; I just noticed Mr. Crêpe for the first time a couple months ago, and I’ve never been there. Have to go before they (you) close.

If they're up for moving out of the city a bit, an Italian restaurant in Woburn Center closed not too long ago (there are still plenty of other restaurants around, so it's not a dead zone).

Oh CRAP! I'm very sorry!

Hmm...not to be completely self-serving or anything, but there are some open storefronts down on Mass Ave near MIT...

mr crepe

Has this already happened? I happened to be in Davis last night and stopped by but the shop was closed. Is there any further update on the situation and/or do you know what the utter final day of crepe-ability is (tomorrow!?)?

*is sad & crepe-longing*
