reliable truck rental recommendations

URGENT!

does anyone know of a reliable, won't-screw-me-over truck rental place. would be swell if it's in the somerville area. i know i shouldn't have waited this long but i thought i had another truck i could use but that plan didn't work and now i need one for august 31st. and i need a place that won't call me on friday to tell me that i can't have the truck until 5 p.m. ok -- recommend away...

I had good luck a while back with the U-haul that's down off the McGrath/O'Brien highway (route 28) on the edge of Somerville, but I don't know how much that had to do with the amount of flirtiness I was feeling that day, and I moved on a non-standard date (the 13th).

G'luck!

Where did you "reserve" your Uhaul from?

I've never rented from them, but the Gulf station on Main St. in Medford (near Princeton St., I think) has a fleet of Ryder trucks for rent.

Unless you rent trucks frequently, it's hard to tell if a place is reliable or if you were just lucky.

never, ever use U-Haul if you need reliability.
they've fucked my roomie and i over twice, once leaving us stranded in Northampton for two days while we waited for a truck.
they just did it to a friend of ours, and he called the better business bureau. they said something to the effect of "we'll add your complaint to the u-haul pile"
ryder, enterprise, and i think budget are all more reliable. also hertz-penske.
