well because there used to be the little gray square icons across the top of the user info pages, which are now gone, and one was the little magnifying glass. it seems to just be gone, while the others have moved mostly to the upper right (add friend, etc).

not that it was great, as you mentioned, but it was sometimes helpful though mostly when i was looking for things on the b0st0n community. but i'm still burned they 'redesigned' the user info.

that magnifying glass was a link to LJSeek (which was not actually part of LJ, but a separate external service).

right, which may explain why it's not working, i haven't really tried to use it since.
