compostables

Would anyone like my compostables?  It's mostly vegetable and fruit trimmings with some egg shells, coffee grounds, and the occasional paper towel.  I get Boston Organics, so most of it is organic too.  :)  I live near the Somerville Library at Highland and Walnut and would like to drop it off somewhere every other week or so.  Let me know, thanks!

Overnight Parking?

I have a friend coming to stay from Saturday - Tuesday, and he's driving. I live in N. Cambridge and had planned to go to the parking office to try to get a visitor's pass, but I haven't had time (thanks, Life!).

What do you think my best course of action here is? If he was only staying the one night, I'd just have him park on Mass Ave. and then leave before 8 or whatever, but because he's staying longer, this won't work.

Park at Alewife? Can you stay there for more than 24 hours at a time? [Like, I guess we could take the car out once a day and like drive around the block and then put it back...]

Or, you know, anyone have a Cambridge visitor's parking pass they'd be willing to lend me for three nights?

Podiatrist recommendation?

I'm having a painful resurgence of a chronic foot issue, and I think it's time to go talk to a doctor. The last podiatrist I saw, years ago, was useless and patronizing. I'm looking for someone who will respect my knowledge of my own body and look at treatments holistically, rather than jumping right to serious painkillers and/or surgery.

Any recommendations would be fantastic! Must be T-accessible.

DPW closed?

Hi all - I was at DPW on Franey Road a couple of days ago when they evacuated the whole building because of the huge gas leak that wasn't. I went to DPW again this morning, only to find the entire building closed. Anyone know what's up with that? Not a huge April Fool's joke, I imagine...

Lost cat

Hey there. Our cat Simon is lost. We live on Ossipee Road up near Teele Sq. He's been out since last night, but he's been gone longer than this so we're not too worried yet. He's medium sized, fairly thin with a very long tail. He has a microchip, #494846691C, and is 2 years 9 months old. No collar. We're definitely going to have to get him one after this.

Here's another, larger picture.
And another, top view.
If you see him please call either (eight six zero) 539 2493 or (six one seven) 407 8271.
Thanks

for sale: 1963 Schwinn Spitfire

The serial number indicates it was made in 1963. Original paint, original decals, seat, etc. Wire basket attached to front.

I would like to get $350 for it, which is less than I've been seeing them online (in this condition they seem to go for about $500, but I'd like to sell it fast). The bike is in excellent condition, a year ago I sat down and went over every inch of it, dealing with rust bits and minor repairs. I need more exercise, so I want to sell this and get a more modern bike for extended rides (one, specifically, that I can put my wide gel seat on; this bike is so perfectly preserved I couldn't bring myself to start taking it apart).

The tires are a little soft right now because it was sitting around all winter. I had borrowed my roommate's pump, so if you want to ride it away from here you'd need to bring a pump. It's fun to ride. Email me at thespian at sleepingcat dot com for more info or to come see it. I'm about a block away from Cedar and Elm.
