I'm having a painful resurgence of a chronic foot issue, and I think it's time to go talk to a doctor. The last podiatrist I saw, years ago, was useless and patronizing. I'm looking for someone who will respect my knowledge of my own body and look at treatments holistically, rather than jumping right to serious painkillers and/or surgery.

Any recommendations would be fantastic! Must be T-accessible.

Not in Davis, but in Central Sq on Mass Ave.

I highly recommend Dr. Edward Mostone. His jokes are a little corny, but he's really nice and knowledgeable! He's the best doctor I've ever had - I'm almost sorry that I don't need to see a podiatrist anymore.

His jokes are a little corny

...as are yours, in a podiatry context. ;)

no pun intended

I thought about that after I posted. But I can't think of another word for corny. XD

Not in Davis, but I can't rave enough about Dr. Frank Santopietro in Brookline on Beacon Street. I literally couldn't walk without intense pain for months, and after visiting him, getting a custom orthodic, listening to his wise advice on shoes, etc., I have been pain free for years.

I second Dr. Santopietro. He gave me some good tips for reshaping my crooked toes! And he custom-made orthotics that let me walk without pain. For him, surgery is a last resort. And I'm also impressed that he works on some of the Patriots (has an autographed shoe in his waiting room).

clarification about the toe reshaping - I mean things I can do myself like massage, stretches, taping, etc. - not surgery.
