Tufts fireworks tomorrow (Friday 4/30, 9:15 pm)

Tufts University will shoot off fireworks tomorrow night at 9:15 for the annual Tuftonia's Day (and the 150th anniversary of Tufts' founding). This will happen at the Rez Quad west of Packard Avenue.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] bex77 for the reminder.

And I love that when I hear inexplicable fireworks, I know that I should just come here and all will be explained... Which is to say, thanks!

Speaking of noise coming from Tufts, Saturday is the annual Spring Fling concert on the President's Lawn. The featured band is OK Go. It's a Tufts-only ticketed event, but you can easy stand/sit across Professors Row and listen. It's a dry event this year (last year led to the City of Somerville declaring it a mass casualty event because of the volume of alcohol-related calls), so it *may* be better behaved (or not).

Here's the posted tentative schedule (the other bands are student groups):

Spring Fling 2010
Schedule
12:00 pm Gates Open
12:45 pm Sam Adams
2:00 pm Drake
3:30 pm OK Go

BTW, Ron: have you ever considered a "Tufts" tag? If Sound Bites has one, then we probably need one for the biggest employer in the neighborhood.

They did the video a few years ago with synchronized treadmills.

I always wanted to name my band "Now Appearing" or "Closed for Repairs" just for the marquee value.

"Open Bar" works, too.
